“An Age of Our Own Making” was a contemporary art project in three ‘chapters’ taking place in three different Danish cities from May to November 2016. The project was part of IMAGES 16, an art programme unfolding in art institutions and public spaces all over Denmark.

Total budget

1,044,771 Euro.

Initiator

The initiators were the Municipality of Holbæk and the DCCD/CKU.

Artist

An Age of Our Own Making was a concept under Holbæk Images curated by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung and Solvej Helweg Ovesen and organized by the Holbæk Municipality.

Partners involved

Holbæk Images was supported by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development – CKU – a self-governing institution under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Target group

The target group was all citizens in Holbæk and the audience at the Roskilde festival and Charlottenborg artspace in Copenhagen.

Key learning from the process

  • Because of using professional curators to introduce the overall concept, the quality was so high, that it could generate a budget large enough to establish a Holbæk based office administrating the festival.
